GOLF DAY IN AID OF THE DAME VERA LYNN TRUST |

Arun were very happy to be involved with a Golf Day organised by the Dame Vera Lynn Trust.
We put one of our Jaguar XJS Celebrations forward as a star prize so there was plenty to play for!
The day was a great success with over a dozen teams competeing and a fabulous dinner after the Golf with Christopher Martin - Jenkins as the guest speaker.
Much fun was had by all and more importantly plenty of money was raised for this worthy cause helping children with Cerebral Palsy.
The car was not won though and so is back for sale on our forecourt. |

| Summer is now upon us and its time to bring you up to date with whats going on at Arun ( Before we start did you see the article on the sense of buying a second hand XK in the motoring section of The Sunday Times 11th April ? If you missed it ring for a copy makes interesting reading.)
We have had a fantastic winter business wise so a big thank you to all who bought cars , used our workshops and generally supported us. Good cars are still very scarce and are in huge demand so we are having to go all over the UK and even over the channel to source stock, a recent weeks transport cost collecting vehicles was over £2k!!
ON an other tack some of you may have noticed we have been testing the waters with a few classics and have been so pleased by the interest and sales generated that we will be making this an important addition to our main stream busines. Recent sales have included a 1939 daimler with an interesting war history with the Wolverhampton Home Guard ( Sold to a German client !! ) , A 1933 "Military" Austin 7 Tourer used by the cavalry up to 1941, an early Aston, several E Types, one of the first of the XJS,s an Alvis etc. etc.
It has become increasingly apparent that "classics" ranging in price from £8k upwards offer in this day of low interest rates a secure investment coupled with the fun of owning and driving a piece of motoring history. ( The Sunday Times recently put classic cars, wine and Purdy shotguns in thier top ten list of good investments).
It is also worth noting that even a modest "spend" can buy you a very enjoyable good driving car. Look at the price of some of our 4litre XJS Convertibles . We are not interested in dealing in restoration projects but only cars that are fit to use , remember the person who spends fortunes on restoring a vehicle will only ever get a fraction of the money spent back. The trick is to buy the car that someone else has spent the money on.
And finally an example of how prices are going , an E Type we sold two years ago for circa £21k has just been sold privatly by its owner for £34k ! Not bad eh ? |

Here at Arun Ltd we can now significantly enhance the performance of your Jaguar. Amongst the options available are: ECU remapping, Sports exhaust systems, Uprated Suspension and Brake parts, Supercharger Pulley upgrades, Cold Air induction and more! Many of these are inexpensive upgrades that will enhance performance with no detrimantal effect to the car. 450+ bhp can be achieved from the AJ26 V8 engine.
